Rumphella aggregata
A refined and structuring symbiotic gorgonian
The Rumphella aggregata is a rare and sought-after symbiotic gorgonian for its feathery and branched branches that gently unfold in the current. Its natural hue, ranging from light beige to pearly pink, makes it a soothing and very aesthetic decorative element in a reef aquarium.
A flexible and natural upright posture
This gorgonian grows upwards, forming a light aerial structure ideal for side or background areas. It adds height and movement without visually weighing down the décor and sways gracefully with the water flow.
Easy maintenance thanks to photosynthesis
Equipped with zooxanthellae, the Rumphella aggregata is photosynthetic, making it an easy-to-maintain gorgonian. It grows thanks to light and doesn't require specific feeding, although a supply of phytoplankton or microfauna can benefit polyp activity.
Lighting and water flow
Moderate to strong lighting (120–200 PAR) is recommended to activate photosynthesis. A gentle to moderate flow will ensure the opening of polyps and prevent sediment accumulation on the fine branches.
