The PhytoBreeder 200 Grotech is a plankton reactor designed for the autonomous cultivation of phytoplankton. It allows aquarists to directly produce their own source of live plankton, suitable for feeding filter organisms and supporting the reef ecosystem.

Main Features

Operating Principle

Under optimal conditions, up to 30% of the PhytoBreeder's volume can be harvested daily. This corresponds to a daily production of approximately 3.5 to 6 L of phytoplankton, which can be directly injected into the reef aquarium. This process can be automated using a dedicated control system.

The compact design of the PhytoBreeder 200 optimizes space while maintaining a suitable culture volume for regular production.

Lighting and Design

The light source is directly integrated into the culture chamber, significantly improving the efficiency of the luminous energy used for phytoplankton growth. The removable lid has been replaced by a 110 mm screw cap, facilitating opening and ensuring total pressure-tight sealing.
