Hydnophora rigida Green - Size S
An SPS coral with a branched and vibrant skeleton
The Hydnophora rigida green is a solid and visually striking SPS coral, known for its thick and irregular branches and its intense fluorescent green color. Its sculptural shape makes it a perfect centerpiece to add height and character to the reef decor.
A structuring coral that's easy to maintain
This Hydnophora rigida is appreciated for its resilience and relatively fast growth once well-established. Even in size S, it already provides a solid base for the development of large colonies, bringing a beautiful dynamic to the middle or back of the reef.
Ideal conditions for its growth and color
Lighting and water flow
Moderate to strong lighting (between 150 and 250 PAR) is recommended to maintain its green fluorescence. Medium to strong water flow is essential to avoid sediment buildup and ensure optimal oxygenation of internal tissues.
Water parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Hydnophora rigida green requires stable and high-quality water:
- Temperature: 24–26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0–8.4
- KH: 7–9 dKH
- Calcium: 420–450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
- Nitrates: 1–5 mg/L
- Phosphates: 0.01–0.05 mg/L
A coral to monitor for its stinging power
The Hydnophora rigida has stinging tentacles that can harm neighboring corals. It is therefore advisable to give it some space around to prevent aggressive contact with other species.

Je ne connais pas ce corail, mais il semble facile à maintenir. En tout cas, le vert fluo est bien là !

Plus de 2 mois avant son acclimatation complete en passant par un stade vert marron délavé ou j’ai eu peur de le perdre Depuis plusieurs semaines il a pris sa couleur vert fluo et la pousse est entamée. Il est gourmand de magnesium pour info, pousse depuis que j’ai élevé le Mg
