AquaIllumination Hydra 32HD Reef LED Fixture
The Hydra 32HD is a LED fixture designed for lighting reef aquariums. Its compact rectangular design, combined with an aluminum casing, allows it to easily integrate into any environment while ensuring effective heat dissipation.
With an increase of more than 20% in the number of LEDs compared to previous generations, the Hydra 32HD offers deeper blues and brighter whites, highlighting the natural colors of soft corals, LPS, and SPS.
Spectrum and Control
The fixture features 7 independent color channels complemented by a dedicated moonlight channel. This configuration allows for precise adjustment of the light spectrum to meet the specific needs of each aquarium.
Control is done directly via an app on a smartphone, computer, or tablet, without the need for an external controller.
Available functions include:
Sunrise and sunset simulation.
Cloud cover simulation.
Moonlight simulation via a dedicated channel.
Lighting Performance
The Hydra 32HD can effectively light a surface up to 60 × 60 cm for mixed reef aquariums and up to 50 × 50 cm for high-density SPS coral aquariums.
80° lenses ensure effective deep light penetration while optimizing color mixing.
Design and Components
The LEDs used are sourced from globally recognized manufacturers, including Cree and Osram, ensuring spectrum stability and long-term reliability.

Installation
The Hydra 32HD fixture can be installed in several ways depending on the aquarium configuration:
Rear mounting using a separately sold mounting arm.
Cable suspension sold separately.
Installation on the edges of the aquarium using an aluminum frame sold separately.
It is recommended to position the fixture at least 25 cm above the water level to ensure optimal light diffusion.
Usage Tips
During installation, it is advisable to initially reduce the lighting duration and gradually increase it to limit algae growth.
The recommended lighting duration should not exceed 10 hours per day.
Using the dimmable mode allows for gradual lighting, reducing fish stress and risks to corals.
For maintenance, use only a slightly damp cloth and never apply cleaning spray.
