Introducing the new Hybrid Pro Salt, the most advanced reef aquarium salt on the market.

After years of observing thriving reef tanks on natural seawater (NSW) or chemically pure lab-made salt, we wanted to create a Hybrid Pro Salt formula to offer the benefits of both salts to our delicate reef inhabitants and modern reef aquarists. Natural reef methods enriched with probiotics.

After collecting a variety of water samples from natural reefs across Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, and Fiji, our chemists and biologists analyzed the ICP results of these established coral reef habitats to create a set of parameters, even for the most demanding corals. Unlike the ocean, an aquarium is a closed ecosystem and not all elements are consumed equally. To compensate for absorption differences, we increased the levels of the most consumed micronutrients and trace elements such as strontium and iodine for greater stability.

What makes Hybrid Pro Salt unique?

Hybrid Pro Salt incorporates chemically pure lab-made salt with natural sea salt flakes from the cleanest waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.
Exclusive blend of probiotic bacteria to reduce nitrate and phosphate levels while increasing color intensity and growth potential often inhibited by high phosphate levels.
Contains a number of micro and macro trace elements and is enriched with the highest quality amino acids and vitamins that contribute to immunity and natural metabolic functions.
This new Hybrid Pro Salt formula creates conditions almost identical to those found in natural seawater while having the added benefit of probiotics to help maintain microbiological balance and safely lower nitrate and phosphate levels.

Preparation

- Dissolve the salt in previously prepared demineralized water.

- The water temperature should be around 24 °C (75 °F).

- For a salinity of 33 ppt, dissolve approximately 390 g (13.75 oz) / 10 l (2.7 US gal) of water.

- Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 minutes. Once the salt is completely dissolved and the solution is clear, the saline water is ready to use.

Store the salt in a dry and dark place. Once dissolved, use the salt within 24 hours. When using Probiotic Reef Salt, it is not recommended to perform water changes greater than 10-15%. Keep out of reach of children. Product for aquarium use only.

Aquaforest products are manufactured in the EU under strict laboratory supervision to meet the highest quality standards. Each product is prepared from carefully selected raw components in proven quantities to produce a consistent composition.

How is our Marine Salt product range tested?

We mix our marine salt in batches of 1 metric ton (2204 lb), and 3 separate samples per batch are collected during the production stage for testing. Each of these samples is dissolved in 15 liters (4 US gal) of RO water. Our team of experienced professionals performs ICP-OES analyses to verify that the chemical composition is within a consistent range and to exclude the presence of undesirable contaminants at the same time. Note: even though our salt is well mixed, not all buckets/boxes will be identical. Parameters may vary slightly between containers and a variation of about 2-3% is acceptable. This fluctuation results from both the physical properties of the mix and the limits of available processing techniques. These variations are even smaller than the typical margin of error for popular hobbyist test kits.
