Elementals K Fauna Marin is a highly concentrated potassium solution designed for reef marine aquariums. It allows for targeted compensation of potassium deficiencies, an essential macro-mineral for the proper biological function and chemical stability of the marine aquarium.
Role of Potassium in Marine Aquariums
Potassium is involved in many biological processes in corals and reef organisms. An appropriate concentration contributes to the overall ionic balance of the aquarium and supports proper tissue development and stability of the reef environment.
Elementals Series and ICP Analysis
The Elementals series is designed to be used in conjunction with regular ICP analyses. The Fauna Marin ICP analyses allow for precise determination of deficiencies and adjustment of supplements to maintain a perfectly balanced aquarium.
Dosage and Adjustment
Dosage recommendations should be established based on ICP analysis results. In addition to macroelements such as calcium, magnesium, and carbonate hardness, Elementals K allows for precise adjustment of potassium according to the actual consumption of the aquarium.
Macro-elements and Trace Elements
Unlike macroelements like calcium, magnesium, or potassium, trace elements are present in seawater at concentrations below 1 mg/L. These include copper, chromium, manganese, selenium, as well as iron, iodine, or zinc. Despite their low concentrations, a deficiency can lead to significant imbalances.
Quality and Formulation
Fauna Marin single-element solutions are formulated from very high purity raw materials, using organic or inorganic compounds suited to the function of each element. Development and quality control are carried out using the Fauna Marin coral farm and their in-house ICP laboratory.
