Probe Design

The MA911B/2 features a double junction that significantly reduces the risk of clogging and improves measurement stability over time. The spherical glass tip offers an extended contact surface, allowing for a faster response to pH changes.

The resin body effectively protects the glass detection bulb from accidental shocks and repeated handling, making it suitable for regular aquarist use.

Cable and Compatibility

The probe is equipped with an extended cable providing great installation flexibility, making it easier to position in the aquarium or sump while remaining connected to the pH controller or monitor.

Usage and Maintenance

The measurement drifts of pH meters are most often linked to the wear of the probe. The glass detection bulb gradually loses its sensitivity over time, while the reference junction can become clogged if not properly maintained.

Probe Storage

The probe must remain hydrated. Prolonged dry storage leads to a loss of sensitivity and can block the reference junction. It is recommended to store the probe in a pH storage solution or an appropriate buffer solution.

The protective cap should be filled with storage solution and kept closed to prevent evaporation. Vertical storage is advised to limit the risk of leakage. Storage in tap water or distilled water should be avoided.

Cleaning

Residues in the sample can alter the bulb's sensitivity and block the junction, especially in the presence of organic materials. Regular soaking of the probe in an appropriate cleaning solution helps preserve its performance.

Calibration

The sensitivity of pH electrodes naturally decreases over time. Regular calibration is essential to maintain measurement accuracy. It is also recommended to calibrate the probe after cleaning or a long storage period.
