Gymnothorax moringa, also known as the spotted moray, is an impressive serpent-like fish, featuring a cream-colored body entirely speckled with black spots. Native to the Western Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean, this nocturnal and discreet moray easily blends into the rocky decor of the aquarium.
Its behavior is typical of morays: it spends the day hidden in caves or crevices and comes out at night to feed. It is essential to provide it with a environment rich in hiding spots and stable, quality water. It coexists more easily with large, calm, and non-aggressive fish. It is also essential to ensure the tank's security: this fish can escape through the smallest openings.
In captivity, it develops an interesting relationship with its keeper and can even learn to slightly come out to take food from tweezers once accustomed.
