Flourish Excel is a bioavailable organic carbon source designed to meet the fundamental needs of aquatic plants. Carbon is an essential element of photosynthesis and is usually provided in the form of CO2, but it can also be assimilated from simple organic compounds called photosynthetic intermediates.

Benefits and Use

Flourish Excel allows for the direct introduction of organic compounds structurally similar to intermediates used in the carbon construction chain during photosynthesis. By partially bypassing the CO2 conversion step, plants can more quickly benefit from the carbon needed for their growth.

Its use can be particularly interesting when continuous CO2 injection might lead to an excessive drop in pH. Flourish Excel can be used alone or in combination with a CO2 system, as both approaches are not mutually exclusive.

Flourish Excel also has iron-reducing properties, promoting the ferrous form Fe+2, which is more easily assimilated by plants than ferric iron Fe+3.
