PARwise ITC Reefculture Parameter for Marine Aquarium

PARwise is an advanced lux meter capable of accurately measuring all the essential light parameters for maintaining photosynthetic organisms in a reef aquarium. It allows for analyzing the quantity and quality of light to optimize the settings of LED, fluorescent, or natural lighting.

Measured Parameters

PARwise measures the following values:

PAR (PPFD) in µMol/m2/s, Kelvin color temperature, LUX, light spectrum, DLI (Daily Light Integral), peak wavelength, and color hue.

Operation

The sensor uses an optical engine designed and manufactured by ITC Reefculture. A replaceable directional cosine corrector allows for an accurate reading of the spectral content and light intensity received. The data is processed directly in the device and then transmitted via USB to the connected device for display.

The web application downloads automatically during the first use and allows offline operation on PC, Mac, and USB-OTG compatible Android devices. A USB-C adapter is included.

Use in Aquarium

The sensor can be used in both water and air. Simply place PARwise in the immediate vicinity of the coral or plant to be analyzed to obtain an accurate measurement at the exact point of light exposure. The readings can then be compared to other lighting settings or reference spectral curves.

The web application is available in English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, and Portuguese.
