This Pavona maldivensis is appreciated for its rapid growth and high tolerance to moderate variations in water parameters. It is ideal for aquarists looking to add a structuring and bright coral without requiring excessive maintenance.
Ideal conditions for optimal development
Lighting and water flow
To ensure vibrant color and even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity of about 200-250 PAR. Medium to strong water flow is necessary to ensure optimal oxygenation and to prevent sediment accumulation on its surface.
Water parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Pavona maldivensis FluoroVSGreen requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-10 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
