The Roller Clean 400 is an automatic mechanical filtration device designed for the continuous removal of solid particles present in the water column.

It mechanically removes debris, leftover food, and organic waste before they degrade, contributing to clearer water and better stability of parameters.

Operating Principle

Water enters the Roller Clean 400's receptacle by gravity and passes through a filter mat.

When the mat becomes clogged, the water level rises enough to trigger a level sensor. This automatically controls the motorized drum, which rolls up the dirty part of the mat and positions a clean section under the water flow.

The cycle continues automatically until the filter roll is exhausted.

Modular Design and Maintenance

The Roller Clean 400 consists of two distinct components:

– a fixed receptacle, installed on the edge of the aquarium or sump

– a cassette that supports the filter roll, removable to facilitate maintenance and replacement

Replacing the roll is quick and does not require complex disassembly.

Installation and Adjustments

The Roller Clean 400 can be installed on either the left or right side of the sump.

The frequency of the mat rolling is adjustable by the position of the level sensor.

A side window allows part of the water flow to be diverted to prevent excessive mechanical filtration when the water becomes too low in nutrients.

Controller Indicators

The controller is equipped with three indicator lights:

– Green LED: automatic mat rolling in progress

– Blue LED: level sensor blocked or triggered for too long

– Red LED: motor blocked or overworked

Roller Clean Filter Mat

The filter mat is designed for use in freshwater and marine aquariums.

It removes solid particles responsible for the accumulation of nitrates and phosphates without removing salts or trace elements.

The operation of skimmers is not affected by the use of the filter mat.
