Litophyton arboreum
A tree-shaped, living and structuring soft coral
The Litophyton arboreum is a tree-like soft coral, forming a very decorative upright branched structure. Its star-shaped and mobile polyps spread across the surface of the branches, offering a fluid and natural movement in the current.
Easy to maintain, ideal for beginners
This coral is perfect for beginner aquarists as well as experienced reef keepers. It tolerates a wide range of conditions, doesn't require complex care, and can be easily propagated. Its fast growth and vertical structure make it an excellent choice for occupying the background or central areas of the decor.
Flexible and non-aggressive behavior
The Litophyton arboreum is peaceful with other corals and integrates seamlessly into a mixed tank. It can reach a significant size depending on conditions, creating a true living bush in your reef aquarium.
Lighting and flow
This coral prefers moderate to strong lighting to stimulate its development. A medium to strong flow is necessary to encourage the opening of polyps and prevent deposits between the branches.
Water parameters
The Litophyton arboreum appreciates stable and well-oxygenated water:
- Temperature: 24–26 °C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0–8.4
- KH: 7–9 dKH
- Calcium: 400–450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
