Like all sponges, the Callyspongia sp. plays an important role in improving water quality. It filters fine particles and microorganisms, helping to maintain clean and balanced water, ideal for other corals and fish in the reef.
Lighting and water flow
This sponge prefers low to moderate lighting and requires moderate water flow to promote good oxygenation and allow its internal channels to function properly. Too much current could disrupt its growth, while insufficient flow could hinder its filtering efficiency.
