Reef Advantage Strontium is formulated with dry, ionically balanced strontium chloride. It helps restore and maintain strontium at concentrations naturally found in seawater, essential for the growth of calcifying organisms.
Type: strontium supplement for reef aquarium.
Net weight: 300 g.
Concentration: approximately 30,000 ppm.
Formulation: dry, ionically balanced powder.
Strontium is present in natural seawater at a concentration between 8 and 10 mg/L. Chemically similar to calcium, it is incorporated by many organisms into their calcareous structures, including corals, coralline algae, and tridacnids.
Regular strontium intake promotes harmonious growth of calcareous skeletons, especially in densely populated reef aquariums where consumption is continuous.
Reef Advantage Strontium effectively restores strontium levels without disrupting the ionic balance of the system. Unlike many competing supplements, it can be added directly to the aquarium without prior solution preparation.
Use 6 g per 150 L of water, twice a week.
The product can be added directly to the aquarium.
Measure the strontium level, then follow the addition schedule until reaching a concentration between 8 and 12 mg/L.
Each dose of 6 g per 150 L increases the strontium by about 2 mg/L.
The quantity or frequency can be adjusted according to the system's needs.
After determining the strontium consumption rate, a continuous drip system can be set up.
The amount to add to the top-off water can be calculated using the following formula: m = v × s ÷ 30, where m is the grams to add, v is the aquarium volume in liters, and s is the desired increase in mg/L.
The recommended strontium level is between 8 and 12 mg/L.
Significant adjustments should be made gradually to avoid any imbalance.
Excess strontium can increase carbonate alkalinity loss.
Do not mix directly with a carbonate supplement. It is recommended to space additions by at least 30 minutes.
