Reef Advantage Calcium is a concentrated ionic calcium powder supplement, formulated to restore and maintain calcium at natural seawater levels. Its non-caustic pH, ranging from 8.3 to 8.6, ensures safe use without pH disruption.
It also contains magnesium and strontium in proportions suited to typical biological usage rates, helping to maintain the overall ionic balance of the reef tank.
SEACHEM
Type: concentrated ionic calcium powder.
Function: restoration and maintenance of calcium.
Solution pH: 8.3 to 8.6.
Included elements: calcium, magnesium, strontium.
Compatibility: reef aquarium.
Can be added directly to the aquarium after dissolution.
Calcium is essential for the growth of corals, calcareous algae, and other skeleton-building organisms. A deficiency leads to halted growth, followed by rapid degradation of reef health.
Reef Advantage Calcium allows for precise calcium increase without the pH constraints associated with limewater, and without depleting magnesium or alkalinity when used correctly.
250 g, 500 g, 1 kg, 4 kg.
Dissolve 5 g (about one level teaspoon) for 150 L of water, twice a week.
Dissolve in at least 250 ml of freshwater before adding.
Check calcium every two weeks and adjust the dose or frequency if necessary.
Measure calcium and adjust gradually until reaching a value between 380 and 420 mg/L.
Each dose of 5 g for 150 L increases calcium by approximately 12 mg/L.
Do not exceed 10 g for 150 L per day.
After determining the actual consumption of the tank, a continuous drip system can be used.
Calculation formula:
m = v × c / 400
m = grams to add
v = volume of the tank in liters
c = desired increase in calcium in mg/L
Recommended calcium level: 380 to 420 mg/L.
The recommended alkalinity is between 3 and 6 meq/L (8 to 17 dKH).
Significant adjustments should be made slowly to avoid stressing corals and invertebrates.
Excess calcium can lead to a loss of carbonate alkalinity.
Do not mix directly with a carbonate supplement. It is advisable to space calcium and carbonate additions by at least 30 minutes or alternate dosing days.
