MgCl2 is a hexahydrate magnesium chloride developed by TRITON for precise magnesium adjustment in reef aquariums.
Magnesium is a major element of seawater. It directly contributes to the stability of parameters, particularly by limiting unwanted precipitation of calcium and alkalinity.
Role of Magnesium in Reef Aquarium
An appropriate magnesium level contributes to the overall ionic stability of the reef system.
An imbalance of magnesium can lead to difficulties in maintaining calcium and KH, as well as general instability of parameters.
TRITON Quality and Control
MgCl2 TRITON is formulated from very high purity ingredients, rigorously tested and controlled in TRITON laboratories.
This level of control ensures reliable, reproducible supplementation that is compatible with demanding reef aquariums.
Compatibility with Supplementation Methods
MgCl2 TRITON is compatible with two-part, three-part supplementation methods as well as other parameter management systems.
It can be used for spot corrections or integrated into a long-term magnesium maintenance strategy.
Dosage and Usage
Indicative dosage: 8.4 g for 100 L of seawater allows an increase of magnesium by approximately 10 mg/L.
The product should be pre-dissolved in osmosed water before any administration in the aquarium.
Adjustment should be gradual and based on reliable measurements.
MgCl2 TRITON should be used with caution. A rapid increase in magnesium can cause chemical imbalances in the reef aquarium.
