Turbelle® masterstream 6580

The Turbelle masterstream 6550 from Tunze is a high-performance circulation pump designed for very large volume aquariums. It is intended for creating powerful currents, continuous circulation, or simulated tidal movements in reef or public installations.

Circulation pump for very large volume aquariums

The masterstream 6550 is recommended for aquariums over 20,000 liters. Thanks to its extremely high flow rate and wide output, it can move large volumes of water while maintaining a homogeneous and stable flow.

Low voltage and high efficiency electronic motor

This pump operates with a PM electronic motor powered by a low voltage 24 V DC. It offers a wide operating range, with power suitable for installations requiring intensive and constant circulation.

Flow and circulation speed

The Turbelle masterstream 6550 delivers an adjustable flow rate of 45,000 to approximately 80,000 liters per hour. The generated circulation speed ranges from 1.1 to 2.0 meters per second, allowing for the creation of powerful currents over long distances.

Robust and corrosion-resistant design

The pump body and its components are made from technical plastics ASA, POM, and PA6.6 enriched. The shaft is made of titanium and the electronics are completely encapsulated in PU resin, ensuring total waterproofing and maximum corrosion resistance in seawater.

The pump body also serves as an intake strainer, with an intake surface approximately 3.9 times larger than the output surface, which limits pressure losses and eliminates the need for an additional pre-filter.

Control and compatibility

The pump comes with a Wavecontroller 7090 allowing the control of various operating modes. It is compatible with Tunze Controller systems, Multicontroller, and SmartController 7000.

The Turbelle masterstream 6550 is not compatible with oscillating flow systems like Wavebox.

Safety and operation

The pump includes automatic protection against blocking and overheating. In case of a safety shutdown, an automatic restart occurs after about 20 seconds. The operation is quiet despite the high power.

Mounting and installation

The standard mounting is done on a pipe or PVC bar with a diameter of 32 mm. Optionally, a Magnet Holder 6508.500 allows mounting on glass up to 30 mm thick. A Cable Safe 6508.600 is also optionally available to secure the cable.

Power supply and longevity

The pump operates exclusively with the original Tunze power supply reference 6508.120. The average announced lifespan of the power supply exceeds 80,000 hours under normal use conditions.

Maintenance

A complete cleaning of the pump body, drive, and rotor is recommended once a year. In hard or heavily loaded water, more frequent maintenance may be necessary. The pump should never run dry and should always be unplugged before any intervention.

Warranty

The Turbelle masterstream 6550 comes with a limited 5-year warranty. Wear parts are guaranteed for 2 years in accordance with manufacturer conditions.
