Lithium

Lithium (Li)

What to do when the level is too high?

Risks: no documented direct toxicity, but it is recommended to maintain Li < 500 µg/L to avoid potential mineral imbalances.

Measures: perform regular partial water changes to dilute lithium, identify and neutralize sources (cements, certain Mg additives), aim for < 500 µg/L (ideal value: 100–300 µg/L).

What to do when the level is too low?

Risks: possible reduction in coral skeleton solidity, with less rigid growth tips.

Measures: no specific action necessary if Li ≥ 100 µg/L; in case of a confirmed deficiency, consider supplementation through a trace element mix containing lithium, dosed very lightly.
