Rowa Phos is recognized as one of the most effective anti-phosphate resins on the market. It effectively removes phosphates, the main culprits in the proliferation of algae and cyanobacteria, in both freshwater and marine environments.
Regular use is highly recommended to maintain a stable environment, especially in demanding reef aquariums.
The Rowa Phos resin adsorbs phosphates, as well as silicates and arsenic. Once saturated, it does not release any chemicals into the water, ensuring completely safe long-term use.
Longevity tests have confirmed the absence of leaching even after several years of continuous use.
100 ml treat up to 800 L of freshwater or 400 L of marine water.
250 ml treat up to 2000 L of freshwater or 1000 L of marine water.
500 ml treat up to 4000 L of freshwater or 2000 L of marine water.
1000 ml treat up to 8000 L of freshwater or 4000 L of marine water.
To maintain phosphate levels close to zero, the resin should be used continuously and replaced on average every 1 to 2 months, depending on the nutrient load of the aquarium. Sporadic use does not allow for sustainable phosphate control.
In reef aquariums, it is advised to keep phosphates below 0.015 ppm. In freshwater aquariums, slightly higher values may be tolerated.
Never wash the resin.
Keep it constantly moist, it becomes ineffective if it dries out.
Place the resin in a sock or between two layers of perlon.
Preferably use in forced flow or in a high-flow area.
Never pour the resin directly into the aquarium without a container.
In a fluidized filter, provide a layer of perlon at the outlet to retain dust.
It is recommended to regularly measure the phosphate levels to monitor the effectiveness of the resin. When values rise, the resin should be replaced.
Note, many standard phosphate tests do not detect the very low concentrations necessary in reef aquariums.
