The JBL PROAQUATEST PO4 Sensitive allows for precise determination of phosphate concentration in freshwater and marine aquariums. Phosphates are major nutrients that can promote algae proliferation when present in excess.
Phosphates play a role in the growth of plants and algae. A concentration that is too high can cause unwanted algae proliferation and disrupt the biological balance of the aquarium. Regular monitoring allows for the quick identification of any deviation.
Laboratory-grade sensitive colorimetric test, designed to accurately detect low concentrations of phosphates. The comparative system compensates for the natural coloration of the water for a reliable reading.
The test tubes are filled with the aquarium water to be tested. The reagents are added according to the instructions, then the test tubes are placed in the comparator. The phosphate value is determined by comparison with the provided color chart.
For a newly set-up aquarium, weekly testing is recommended in both freshwater and marine environments. The test is also advised in cases of algae problems or for tap water control.
