The JBL PROAQUATEST GH is a colorimetric test designed to determine the total hardness of the water. It measures the overall concentration of calcium and magnesium ions, essential parameters for freshwater aquariums and ponds.

Measurement Principle

The test operates by drop-by-drop titration. The water sample is mixed with the reagent until the color changes from red to green. The number of drops used corresponds directly to the total hardness value expressed in German degrees (°dGH).
