CupriSorb 100 ml Seachem – Copper-Removing Resin for Marine Aquarium

CupriSorb is a chelating resin specifically developed for the removal of copper and heavy metals in marine and reef aquariums. It acts faster and more effectively than traditional filter media and helps secure aquariums that have undergone copper treatment.

Main Features

Media Type: Copper-specific chelating resin.

Volume: 100 ml.

Usage: High-flow chemical filtration.

Compatibility: Marine and reef aquariums.

Benefits and Usage

CupriSorb extracts all types of copper, including chelated copper, and remains active until fully saturated, identifiable by a dark blue-black coloration. Unlike conventional cation exchange resins, its action remains fully effective in saltwater. Used continuously, it also helps gradually remove copper released by the substrate, facilitating the maintenance of invertebrates in aquariums previously treated with copper.

Dosage and Absorption Capacity

Parameter Value
Recommended Dosage 250 ml for 600 L
Maximum Capacity Up to 7,500 mg of copper
Exhaustion Indicator Dark blue-black coloration of beads

Installation and Maintenance

CupriSorb should be placed in a high water flow area to maximize its effectiveness. It can be used in a filter bag, cartridge filter, chemical filtration module, or any high-flow area of a trickle filter. After measurable copper is gone, it is recommended to leave CupriSorb in place for at least two additional weeks to remove copper released by the substrate.

Media Regeneration

The resin can be regenerated multiple times. The procedure involves soaking CupriSorb in a non-metallic container containing water and muriatic acid, followed by a thorough rinse. Neutralization with sodium bicarbonate is then necessary before reuse. If the original color cannot be restored after several cycles, the resin can be converted for other filtration uses.

Package Contents

CupriSorb resin packaged in a 100 ml sachet, ready to use.

This filter media is designed for specific technical use and should be handled with care during regeneration phases. Always follow safety instructions when handling acid products.
