ATI Zeolite Plus is a natural filtering media derived from microporous volcanic rocks, with a high clinoptilolite content. This zeolite mixture is entirely natural, without chemical additives or dyes, and perfectly suited for marine reef aquariums.
Its complex microporous structure gives it high adsorbent properties, suitable for mechanical and biological filtration in saltwater aquariums.
Zeolite is a silica mineral that resembles feldspar. The internal and external surfaces can reach up to 600 cm² per cm³, offering a large colonization surface for microorganisms involved in the nitrogen cycle.
Thanks to these characteristics, ATI Zeolite Plus acts as a natural ion exchanger, particularly for ammonium.
ATI Zeolite Plus eliminates ammonia and ammonium, thereby limiting the formation of nitrites and nitrates. This reduction in nutrients slows down the growth of undesirable algae and helps improve the coloration and health of corals.
Due to its high porosity, zeolite also acts as an effective mechanical filter, promoting the adsorption and biological degradation of certain heavy metals and toxic compounds.
After a short period of use, ATI Zeolite Plus is naturally colonized by beneficial bacteria. It then becomes an active biological support, enhancing the overall efficiency of filtration and contributing to a more stable and easier-to-maintain aquarium.
ATI Zeolite Plus is perfectly suited for use in saltwater aquariums. The material is insoluble in water and does not release any toxic substances, making it compatible with even the most sensitive reef systems.
Recommended dosage: use 1 L of zeolite for approximately 400 L of aquarium water.
During the first use, the zeolite should be introduced gradually, in cumulative stages of about 10% per week, to allow a progressive adaptation of the reef ecosystem.
After a period of about 3 months, the zeolite can be completely replaced to maintain optimal performance.
