Lighting and Water Flow
To preserve its fluorescent color and ensure harmonious development, moderate lighting is recommended, with an intensity of about 100-200 PAR. Moderate water flow is sufficient to oxygenate its tissues and prevent waste accumulation between its polyps.
Water Parameters
Like all LPS corals, the Caulastrea echinulata requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
