The Dascyllus aruanus, commonly known as the three-banded damselfish, is a very popular species in marine aquariums due to its ease of care, lively behavior, and robustness. This fish has a silver-white oval body, marked by three distinct vertical black bands: one across the eye, the second in the middle of the body, and the third near the caudal peduncle.

Very dynamic and visually contrasting, the Dascyllus aruanus enlivens small to medium-sized reef aquariums. It typically measures 5 to 7 cm as an adult and can be housed in tanks starting at 150 liters, provided its need for structured group living is respected.
