The Acanthophthalmus myersi is also commonly known as the Kuhli pangio. The Acanthophthalmus myersi is an eel-like fish with an orange color spotted with black bands. The Kuhli is an excellent bottom cleaner; it has small barbels that allow it to dig in the sand, but also to hide in it. Due to its very peaceful nature, it can be introduced into a community aquarium without any problem, but it is incompatible with crayfish.
A temperature between 24°C and 28°C is essential, as well as a pH close to 7. A 160 L tank is recommended for raising the species. Cohabitation with 5 individuals is strongly advised. An omnivore, it often feeds on leftovers found on the bottom of the tank. In addition, it likes bloodworms and vegetable tablets suitable for bottom-dwelling fish.
