The Mosquito Rasbora - Boraras brigittae is a small fish not exceeding 3 cm, originating from Indonesia. Its lifespan is estimated to be around 8 years. Characteristic of this species, it displays lovely bright colors across its entire body. Lovers of weak currents, this fish thrives in marshy areas and streams of tropical forests. The Boraras brigittae is a micro-predator feeding on worms, insects, and zooplankton. Lively but calm and non-territorial, it moves in schools.
Therefore, for aquarium breeding, it is highly recommended to acquire at least ten individuals to respect the sociable nature of the specimen. Ideal for a community aquarium, be careful not to associate it with fish that are too large or aggressive, as it could become easy prey. An aquarium of at least 30 L, a pH close to 7, and a temperature between 25° and 28° are the recommended parameters to keep the specimen in very good health. It is crucial to meticulously follow these, as the Mosquito Rasbora - Boraras brigittae is sensitive to variations and can quickly contract diseases or die if the water quality is not adequate.
