JBL PRONOVO PLECO WAFER M 1000 ml – Food for Plecos and Loricariids

The JBL PRONOVO PLECO WAFER M 1000 ml is a thin wafer-shaped food, specially designed for herbivorous and algivorous Loricariids. This large packaging is perfectly suited for densely populated aquariums and professional setups, while meeting the specific nutritional needs of bottom-dwelling fish.

Main Features

Type of food: sinking wafers for bottom-dwelling fish.

Target species: herbivorous and algivorous Loricariids.

Fish size: 1 to 20 cm.

Packaging: original sealed box, recyclable, airtight and lightproof, with an integrated dispenser in the lid.

Benefits and Usage

The PRONOVO PLECO wafers sink quickly to the bottom of the aquarium, the natural feeding area for Loricariids. Their texture allows for slow consumption by rasping, essential for the natural wear of teeth and proper functioning of the buccal apparatus.

The presence of wood fibers meets the physiological need for nibbling observed in many xylophagous Siluriformes species. Plant ingredients like spinach and spirulina ensure a balanced diet for herbivorous and algivorous species.

For crepuscular and nocturnal species, it is recommended to distribute the food only after the lights are turned off to prevent the wafers from being consumed by other fish.

Dietary Differences Among Loricariids

The majority of Loricariids feed on plants, algae, and plant materials. Many species are also xylophagous. Some more carnivorous species require a different diet and are better suited to animal-based tablets.

For all herbivorous and algivorous Loricariids, PRONOVO PLECO provides a specifically formulated food solution, available in two wafer sizes.

Feeding in a Community Aquarium

It is possible to keep different bottom-dwelling fish in the same aquarium by simultaneously distributing multiple types of food suited to each group. This approach promotes a varied diet and ensures that each species receives nutrition consistent with its physiological needs.
