Benefits and Usage

The PRONOVO PLECO wafers quickly sink to the bottom of the aquarium, the natural feeding zone of Loricariids. Their structure allows for slow consumption by rasping, essential for the natural wear of teeth and maintaining physiological feeding behavior.

The presence of wood fibers meets the needs of xylophagous species that must gnaw wood to ensure proper digestion. Plant ingredients like spinach and spirulina complement the diet of herbivorous and algivorous species.

For twilight and nocturnal species, food distribution should only be done after the lights are off to prevent the wafers from being consumed by upper-layer fish.

Dietary Differences among Loricariids

The majority of Loricariids feed on plants, algae, and plant materials. Many species are also xylophagous. Some more carnivorous species require a different diet and are better suited to animal-based tablets.
