Strontium is naturally present in seawater at a concentration of about 8 to 10 mg/L. Chemically similar to calcium, it is used by many marine organisms in the formation of calcareous skeletons and shells, especially in corals, coralline algae, and tridacnid clams.
Reef Strontium is formulated to maintain these natural levels without altering the pH or disturbing the ionic balance of the reef aquarium.
Reef Strontium contains 10,000 mg/L of strontium in the form of gluconate. This complexed form improves the bioavailability of strontium, limits precipitation phenomena, and reduces the impact on alkalinity. The gluconate also serves as a source of metabolic energy, supporting sustained coral growth.
The gluconate contains neither nitrogen nor phosphorus, preventing any undesirable stimulation of algae growth in a well-maintained reef aquarium.

Free of nitrates and phosphates.
Add 5 ml for 80 L of water, twice a week.
Measure strontium using an appropriate test, then adjust the dosage to reach a concentration between 8 and 12 mg/L.
Each addition of 5 ml for 80 L increases strontium by approximately 0.6 mg/L.
After determining the actual consumption of the tank, a continuous dosing system can be implemented.
Calculation formula:
m = 0.1 × v × s
m = ml of product to add
v = tank volume in liters
s = desired increase in mg/L
Example: to increase strontium by 2 mg/L in a 200 L tank, add 40 ml.
The recommended strontium level in a reef aquarium is between 8 and 12 mg/L.
Significant adjustments should be made gradually to avoid any ionic imbalance.
An excess of strontium may promote increased consumption of carbonate alkalinity. It is not recommended to mix Reef Strontium directly with a carbonate supplement.
