Reef Carbonate is a highly concentrated liquid supplement formulated to increase and stabilize carbonate alkalinity in reef aquariums. Carbonates are essential for the growth of corals and the overall chemical stability of the system.
This product combines carbonate and bicarbonate salts to ensure greater effectiveness than bicarbonate-only formulations, while contributing to pH stability in a closed reef environment.
SEACHEM
Carbonates are indispensable for the calcification of corals and calcareous organisms. Insufficient alkalinity leads to slowed growth and then progressive degradation of coral health.
Thanks to its high pK, Reef Carbonate helps stabilize pH around 8.3–8.4, even in the presence of a high biological load.
Function: Increase and maintain alkalinity (KH).
Type: Concentrated liquid supplement.
Concentration: 4000 meq / L.
Blend of carbonates and bicarbonates.
Reef pH stabilization.
Does not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium.
100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 2 L, 4 L.
Use 5 ml for 80 L of water, twice a week.
It is recommended to dilute the dose in a glass of freshwater before adding it to the aquarium.
Each 5 ml for 80 L increases alkalinity by approximately 0.25 meq / L.
Do not exceed 20 ml for 80 L per day.
After measuring alkalinity, adjust the dosage to reach a target value between 3 and 6 meq / L (8–17 dKH), then maintain according to the tank's consumption.
Reef Carbonate is the liquid version of Reef Builder.
It can be used with an automatic dosing system after precise calculation of needs.
Add slowly in an area with strong water movement.
Do not mix directly with calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplements.
Excess alkalinity can lead to a loss of calcium and trace elements.
The presence of crystals in the bottle at low temperature is normal. Allow the product to return to room temperature and shake to dissolve them before use.
Reef Carbonate is not affected by the skimmer or mechanical filtration; these devices can remain operational during dosing.
