Reef Plus is formulated to replicate the nutritional input of natural tropical reefs. It notably contains vitamin B12, vitamin C, thiamine, inositol, choline, iodide, as well as other essential components.

Unlike many supplements limited to only vitamins and trace elements, Reef Plus also includes amino acids and high concentrations of B and C vitamins.

Role of Trace Elements

Replenishment of trace elements is essential for maintaining a balanced reef environment. These elements are involved in many metabolic processes and the formation of pigments. Iron supply, for example, is known to improve the coloration and growth of photosynthetic organisms such as corals and anemones.

Instructions for Use

Add 5 ml per 80 L of water twice a week or as needed to maintain coral growth.

Reef Plus can also be used as a food soak by mixing 1 ml of the product in about 15 ml of food.

Considerations with Ozone and Skimmer

The use of ozone should be discontinued when dosing Reef Plus, as ozone quickly destroys beneficial organic compounds such as vitamins and amino acids.

The skimmer may temporarily react during dosing. Some compounds are removed by skimming, but a significant proportion is absorbed and used by reef organisms.

Shelf Life

After opening and kept refrigerated, Reef Plus remains usable for about 6 to 12 months.

Impact on Redox Potential

The organic compounds in Reef Plus are naturally reductive and may cause a temporary drop in redox potential. This is normal and does not indicate a degradation of water quality.

Iodine Supply

Reef Plus contains iodide, a stable and bioavailable form of iodine. Depending on reef population density, a specific additional supply of iodide may be necessary.
