The juvenile form, particularly sought after in marine aquariums, is distinguished by its intense black snake-like body contrasted by a bright yellow dorsal. Its elegant appearance, enigmatic behavior, and spectacular metamorphosis make this eel a true living jewel for informed enthusiasts.

It can coexist with calm and non-territorial species, but a specific or semi-specific aquarium is often recommended to ensure its well-being.
