Role of Trace Elements in Reef Aquariums

Trace elements are fundamental components of marine life. Natural seawater contains about 70 different trace elements, essential for the growth, coloration, and health of corals and invertebrates.

In reef aquariums, these elements are quickly consumed or removed by skimming, filtration, and biological growth. A deficiency can lead to slow growth, pale colors, or tissue loss in corals.
