Montastrea Blue Green Tower
An LPS Coral with a Hypnotic Pattern
The Montastrea Blue Green Tower is an encrusting LPS coral remarkable for its intense color contrast. Each polyp features a midnight blue center surrounded by a fluorescent green border, forming a vibrant and dazzling natural mosaic.
A Structuring and Luminous Coral
This Montastrea grows by covering rocky surfaces, creating a colorful and textured carpet. It is ideal for filling low to mid-depth areas of the reef, providing volume, relief, and light.
Ideal Conditions to Reveal Its Colors
Lighting and Water Flow
Moderate to strong lighting (120–250 PAR) brings out the green fluorescence and the depth of the blue. Moderate water flow is sufficient to oxygenate the tissues without hindering its expansion.

Like all LPS, the Montastrea Blue Green Tower appreciates stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24–26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0–8.4
- KH: 7–9 dKH
- Calcium: 420–450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
- Nitrates: 2–10 mg/L
- Phosphates: 0.02–0.08 mg/L
