Clavularia Orange Firework Tip – Clove Polyps
A Living Carpet with Firework Hues
The Clavularia Orange Firework Tip is an exceptional variety of encrusting clove polyps, distinguished by its intensely orange star-shaped polyps with fluorescent green or bright white tips. It forms a living carpet that gracefully sways with the current, reminiscent of a miniature marine firework display.
An Easy-to-Maintain Encrusting Coral
Like all Clavularia, this variety is very easy to maintain. It gradually spreads over rocks or supports without being too invasive and can easily be fragmented. It is perfect for decorating a flat area, a support, or a small column in the reef.
Feeding and Behavior
The Clavularia Orange Firework primarily feeds through photosynthesis thanks to its zooxanthellae. It does not require specific feeding but may appreciate an environment rich in microfauna and fine nutrients to boost its extension.
Lighting and Water Flow
Moderate to strong lighting enhances the fluorescence of the tips. Gentle to medium water flow is sufficient to make the polyps sway while promoting their oxygenation and preventing deposits.
Water Parameters
To thrive fully, the Clavularia Orange Firework Tip requires stable water conditions:
- Temperature: 24–26 °C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0–8.4
- KH: 7–9 dKH
- Calcium: 400–450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
