Directions

If you have never used Phyto-Feast before, start with 1 drop per 4 liters each day (1 teaspoon for 400 liters). Your animals will quickly become accustomed to the phytoplankton (microalgae) and may feed a bit more.

If your animals do not "clean" the water in less than an hour, reduce the amount you add because your system does not completely digest all the microalgae.

A common dosage for a mature system is 1 to 5 drops per 4 liters (1 to 5 teaspoons for 400 liters) each day, depending on your aquarium setup and animal density.

Broadcast Feeding:

Simply add the dose to a high-flow area of the aquarium. We recommend turning off your skimmer before adding the algae. Many customers have successfully placed their skimmer on a vacation timer so that it turns back on automatically later in the evening (2 hours is a good window).

Targeted Feeding:

Dilute 1 volume of Phyto-Feast in 4 volumes of water. Mix well. Turn off all pumps to allow the water to settle. Using a targeted feeding device, feed your animals. Wait about 30 minutes, then turn everything back on. Target feeding the undiluted product is not advised.

Storage

Refrigerate (1-5°C) before and after opening. The best place to store the algae is the bottom shelf as it is the coldest part of your refrigerator. The worst place to store it is the refrigerator door which may not be cold enough. Do not store Phyto-Feast in your freezer as freezing would break many algae cells.

If you accidentally leave the bottle out overnight in a stable environment where temperatures do not exceed 24°C, the product will be fine. But keep in mind that this may shorten the shelf life, so try to use it before the expiration date.
