KH Alkalinity Supplement

Reef Foundation B from Red Sea is an alkalinity supplement designed for reef aquariums. It provides a complex of carbonates and buffers naturally present in seawater to maintain stable alkalinity and a pH suited to the needs of corals.

Alkalinity plays a central role in the chemical stability of the reef aquarium. Combined with calcium and magnesium, it is one of the fundamental elements of the coral skeleton and directly influences calcification, growth, and the strength of calcareous structures.

Reef Foundation B is an integral part of the Reef Foundation Program included in the Reef Care Program by Red Sea. It is designed to be used in conjunction with calcium and magnesium supplements to preserve the ionic balance of the water.

Role of Alkalinity

A stable KH level helps maintain a constant pH and promotes the availability of carbonates necessary for the formation of aragonite. Insufficient alkalinity can slow coral growth and weaken skeletons.

Concentration

1 kg of powder can prepare approximately 10 L of stock solution.
