Ideal Conditions for Optimal Growth
Lighting and Water Flow
To maintain its bright pink color and promote even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-300 PAR. Strong water flow is essential to oxygenate its tissues and prevent sediment accumulation between its fine branches.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Seriatopora hystrix Pink requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
