The Green Seriatopora hystrix is an SPS coral valued for its intense and fluorescent green color as well as its fine and spiky structure. Its dense and branching growth allows it to add volume and a luminous touch to the reef aquarium.

This Green Seriatopora hystrix is renowned for its resilience and rapid growth. It easily adapts to well-established reef environments and tolerates slight variations in water parameters, making it an excellent choice for both beginner aquarists and experienced reef keepers.
Ideal Conditions for Optimal Growth
Lighting and Water Flow
To maintain its fluorescent green brightness and promote even growth, moderate to strong lighting is recommended, with an intensity around 200-300 PAR. Strong water flow is essential to oxygenate its tissues and prevent sediment accumulation between its fine branches.
Water Parameters
Like all SPS corals, the Green Seriatopora hystrix requires stable and well-balanced water:
- Temperature: 24-26°C
- Salinity: 35 ppt (1.025)
- pH: 8.0 - 8.4
- KH: 7-9 dKH
- Calcium: 400-450 ppm
- Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
- Nitrates: between 2 and 10 mg/L for optimal coloration
- Phosphates: between 0.02 and 0.08 mg/L
