Ophioderma sp. – Robust Detritivore Brittle Star for Reef Aquarium
Ophioderma sp. is a nocturnal brittle star renowned for its effectiveness in waste elimination within reef aquariums. With its long, flexible arms covered in small spines, it discreetly slips under rocks to ensure meticulous cleaning of the substrate and less accessible areas.
A Useful and Discreet Helper
This species primarily lives hidden in the rocky crevices of the décor. It emerges from its hiding spot at nightfall or during quiet times to feed on leftover food and organic debris. It thus contributes to the biological stability of the aquarium. Ophioderma sp. is completely harmless to fish, corals, and invertebrates.
Maintenance Conditions

- Temperature: 23°C to 27°C
- pH: 8.0 to 8.4
- Rocky décor with many hiding places and shaded areas

Behavior and Compatibility
