Easy-to-use filter media for effective degradation of nitrates and phosphates
Low concentrations of nitrates and phosphates, as found in nature, give corals bright and vibrant colors while ensuring good growth and excellent vitality. To recreate these nature-like conditions in an aquarium, it is necessary to control the concentrations of nutrients.
NP-BACTO-PELLETS are easy-to-use filter media for effective degradation of nitrates and phosphates. They are made from a blend of natural biopolymers that promote the colonization and growth of microorganisms and bacteria to eliminate nitrates and phosphates. This valuable biomass thus serves as a nutrient source for filter feeders or can be skimmed.

NP-BACTO-PELLETS should be placed in a pellet reactor or a cyclone filter that keeps the NP-BACTO-PELLETS in constant motion. For nutrient removal and gas exchange, strong skimming of the aquarium water is recommended in marine aquariums. Boil the Tropic Marin® NP-BACTO-PELLETS in boiling water to remove air. Start with 50 ml of NP-BACTO-PELLETS per 100 liters of aquarium water. After 4 weeks, double the amount of NP-BACTO-PELLETS as needed. A maximum quantity of 200 ml per 100 liters should not be exceeded. We recommend replacing the used material every 3 months.
It is advisable to place the aerated pellet reactor discharge near the intake of the skimmer.
Tropic Marin® NP-BACTO-BALANCE is an ideal complement to be combined with NP-BACTO-PELLETS, allowing for controlled degradation of nutrients.
