NP-Bacto-Tricks is a trickle filtration media designed for the biological reduction of nitrates and phosphates in reef aquariums. It is composed of a mixture of natural polymers from renewable resources, which are biodegradable by bacteria and other microorganisms.
During colonization and growth, these biopolymers promote the absorption of nitrates and phosphates present in the water. The nutrients are thus integrated into a valuable microbial biomass, which can serve as a food base for filter feeders or be efficiently removed by skimming.
For optimal efficiency, NP-Bacto-Tricks is designed for use in an aerated bioreactor, ensuring sufficient oxygenation for bacterial development and a rapid and stable reduction of nutrients.

NP-Bacto-Tricks is designed for exclusive use in aerated bioreactors. Optimal oxygen supply is essential to ensure effective nutrient degradation.
Recommended initial dosage: 100 ml of NP-Bacto-Tricks per 100 liters of aquarium volume.
After 4 weeks, the amount can be doubled if necessary, without exceeding a maximum of 400 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water.
Vigorous skimming is strongly recommended to remove excess biomass and efficiently export nitrates and phosphates out of the system. It is advised to place the bioreactor's outlet near the skimmer's inlet.
In case of clogging or accumulation of colloidal particles, the elements can be gently rinsed in aquarium water, then replaced without packing. The media level should be adjusted based on observed consumption.
Regular monitoring of water parameters allows for precise adaptation of the media volume and ensures stable and sustainable nutrient management in reef aquariums.
