The Pseudanthias squamipinnis, also known as the red anthias, is an iconic fish of the Indo-Pacific coral reefs. With its bright orange elongated body and small purple stripe between the eye and the pectoral fin, it adds a touch of liveliness and dynamism to any marine aquarium.
This gregarious fish is very active and enjoys large spaces to swim freely. Its peaceful nature makes it an excellent choice for community reef aquariums. It is often seen in colorful schools swirling above the rocky decor.
Keeping in a group in a well-sized aquarium
To provide optimal conditions, the Pseudanthias squamipinnis should be kept in a group consisting of at least one male for four females. A group of 10 individuals is recommended to observe natural and harmonious behavior.
The aquarium should have a minimum volume of 500 liters with numerous hiding places and good water flow. A well-designed rock structure will allow individuals to rest and hide when they feel the need.
Frequent and varied feeding
With a fast metabolism, the Pseudanthias squamipinnis requires several meals a day. Good nutrition is essential to preserve its intense colors and maintain its vitality:

Magnifique !!!
J'ai commandé 10 femelles pour un bac d'environ 600 litres. Conditionnement au top en poche individuelle. Les poissons ont de magnifiques couleurs, dans le bac depuis plusieurs semaines et aucun soucis. Les couleurs sont au rendez-vous et l'éclairage bleu en révèle d'autres. Il faut prévoir une alimentation adaptée au début (le surgelé fonctionne très bien) à voir si elles passent aux granulés dans le temps. Si vous voulez mettre de la vie dans votre bac, n'hésitez pas.
