Apogon maculatus, also known as the blackspot cardinalfish, is a small, peaceful marine fish native to the Caribbean. It has an elongated body with a deep red color, often featuring a subtle dark spot at the base of the caudal fin.
A Calm and Discreet Behavior
Apogon maculatus is a calm and primarily nocturnal fish. It prefers shaded areas, caves, and rocky overhangs, where it often stays withdrawn during the day. Its non-aggressive behavior makes it an excellent companion for community reef aquariums.
Maintenance Conditions
