Colombo Flora Base Pro Coarse 2.5 L – Coarse Granularity Technical Nutrient Soil

FloraBase Pro is a one-of-a-kind nutrient soil produced in Japan. Its Coarse version is characterized by a coarser granularity, offering excellent water circulation within the substrate while preserving the original shape of the granules without disintegration.

Rich in nutrients, its open structure allows for optimal growth of roots and promotes deep and stable rooting of aquatic plants.

Influence on pH and CO2

FloraBase Pro naturally lowers the pH and keeps it stable around 6. At this level, the naturally present CO2 in the water is available in sufficient quantity to ensure optimal growth of aquatic plants.

When the pH is near 6, CO2 absorption reaches about 80%. If the pH increases beyond this value, the efficiency of absorption drops rapidly, potentially limiting plant development.

Start-up and Biological Safety

FloraBase Pro greatly facilitates the start-up of a new aquarium. At a pH below 7, the formation of ammonium is favored over toxic ammonia, contributing to a safer environment for living organisms.

Shrimps and Discus, in particular, thrive in water maintained around a pH of 6, making this substrate perfectly suited to their needs.
