Colombo Flora Base Pro Fine 1 L – Technical Nutrient Substrate for Planted Aquariums

FloraBase Pro is a one-of-a-kind nutrient substrate, produced in Japan. Its granules maintain their original shape without disintegrating, ensuring a stable and uniform structure in the aquarium.

Rich in nutrients, its open structure allows for excellent root growth and promotes deep rooting of aquatic plants.

Influence on pH and CO2

FloraBase Pro naturally lowers the pH and keeps it stable around 6. At this value, the naturally present CO2 level in the water is sufficient to ensure optimal growth of aquatic plants.

When the pH is close to 6, the absorption of CO2 reaches about 80%. If the pH increases beyond this value, the absorption rate drops rapidly, which can limit plant growth.

Startup and Biological Stability

FloraBase Pro greatly facilitates the startup of a new aquarium. At a pH below 7, mainly ammonium is formed, rather than toxic ammonia, thus contributing to a safer environment for the tank's inhabitants.

Shrimp and Discus, for example, particularly appreciate a pH close to 6 and thrive on a FloraBase Pro substrate.
