DVH Aquatic Aragonite Natural Sand is a raw, biogenic, and naturally occurring sand, composed of 99.8% pure calcium carbonate from marine aragonite. Its purity and consistent grain size make it a suitable substrate for marine aquariums, reef aquariums, cichlid aquariums, refugiums, and plenum systems.

In addition to calcium, this sand also contains carbonate, strontium, magnesium, molybdenum, and potassium. It has a high buffering capacity and helps maintain a natural pH without constant addition of chemicals. According to the manufacturer, 1 kg offers more than 100 m² of surface area for the installation of bacteria reducing ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. It contains no nitrates, phosphates, or silica.
The required volume depends on the length, width, and desired thickness of the sand bed. The product is available in 2 and 6-liter containers corresponding to the 2.8 kg and 9 kg packaging, respectively.
