DVH Aquatic Aragonite Natural Sand is a raw, biogenic, and naturally recurring sand, composed of 99.8% pure calcium carbonate derived from marine aragonite. Its purity and consistent grain size make it a suitable substrate for marine, reef, cichlid aquariums, refugiums, and plenum systems.

In addition to calcium, this sand also contains carbonate, strontium, magnesium, molybdenum, and potassium. It has a strong buffering capacity and helps maintain a natural pH without the constant addition of chemicals. According to the manufacturer, 1 kg offers more than 100 m² of surface area for the installation of bacteria that reduce ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. It contains no nitrates, phosphates, or silica.

Installation Tips

The required volume depends on the length, width, and desired thickness of the sand bed. The product is available in 2 and 6-liter containers corresponding respectively to 2.8 kg and 9 kg packaging depending on the versions.
